This session will offer an overview of the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, including pathomechanics, incidence, differential diagnosis. Various approaches to treatment will be presented as well as issues that arise during the post-operative phase of management. This session is suitable for health professionals working with patients presenting with pre or post operative CTS. Biography: Julie Rouse trained as a Physiotherapist in the UK, and since 1990, has specialised in Hand Therapy, working as the Section Manager, Burn/Plastics and Hand therapy at Middlemore Hospital in South Auckland. In 1995 she established Hand Works, a private hand therapy clinic, now operating with 10 staff in three locations. She has completed postgraduate studies in hand and upper limb therapy at the Auckland University of Technology, and currently tutors in the masters degree programme at AUT. |
